Household Benedictions Mercy Uncategorized larrylambert2

The Cross I carry

“If anyone would come after me,
let him deny himself
and take up his cross daily
and follow me.”
— Luke 9:23

Today I do not seek control.
I do not chase comfort.
I do not perform holiness.

I confess Jesus—
because I need Him
to govern my life.

I deny myself—
because I am not the author of this story.
I take up my cross—
because love is costly,
and mercy has weight.

My See daily planner
is not a tool of ambition.
It is a vessel of surrender.

Each dog-eared blue corner,
each colored pencil,
each  note in the Watcher’s Ledger—
is a liturgy of obedience.

I carry my cross
not to be seen,
but to follow.
Not to suffer,
but to love.

Let this day be a rehearsal of mercy.
Let this page be a testimony of rhythm.
Let my life be a quiet lantern
on the ordinary path.

The Ordinary Path
is lit
for those who seek mercy,
memory,
and meaning.

a memory,
a question,
a flicker of light—

No need for eloquence.
No need for certainty.
Just a lantern,
gently placed.
