Parable of the Forgotten Promise
There was once a man who carried a heavy burden and brought it before his companions. They listened kindly, and many said, “We will pray for you.”
But as the man watched their lives, he saw that their words were like leaves carried away by the wind. By the time they reached their homes, his burden was forgotten, and their promise dissolved into silence. The phrase “I will pray for you” became to him like a coin without weight—shiny, but hollow.
So the man resolved within himself: “I will not let my words be empty. When I say I will pray, I will pray. My speech shall be covenant, not courtesy.”
And from that day, his words became lanterns lit with action. Those who received them knew they were not hearing politeness, but witness. His prayers became the fragrance of sincerity, and his service was distinguished by truth.
