The Weight of the Call
It is not light.
It is not easy.
It is not casual.
The call is weighty—
not because it is grand,
but because it is holy.
It does not flatter.
It does not rush.
It does not bend to comfort.
It asks everything.
It costs everything.
And still—
it is given to the least.
To the ones who say,
“I am not ready.”
“I am not worthy.”
“I am not able.”
And yet,
they are called.
Not because they are strong,
but because they are surrendered.
Not because they are many,
but because they are willing.
The weight of the call
is not a punishment.
It is a trust.
It is a flame placed in trembling hands.
And when you feel its heaviness—
do not run.
Do not hide.
Do not despair.
Kneel.
Because the One
who placed it there
will also uphold you.
He does not call without equipping.
He does not send
without staying.
So carry it,
quiet one; —
holy one.
Even if your steps falter.
Even if your voice trembles.
Even if your heart aches.
The weight of the call is real.
But so is the One who called you.
“Come unto Me,
all ye that labor
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you,
and learn of Me;
for I am meek
and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find
rest unto your souls.
For My yoke is easy,
and My burden is light.”
